"What say me make a party of it?”"

Did you mean "we"?

D'oh! Another good catch. Thanks! I made a bunch of typos on this one apparently! :)

Read through for fun then again for things that didn't "sound" quite right. I am enjoying both your work as a writer and as an exercise in proofreading. I hope the Willits household has a great weekend.

and just wish she wanted to be with him… “wished”?

Brilliant line:

She was so close when in reality she had always been too far away.

Good catch, thanks! And thanks for the kudos on that line. I don't even remember writing it :)

Short chapter, but good background info on Frankie and Becca. Keep those chapters coming.

I enjoyed the dogs names. Sam and Frodo. Our six year old dog is also named Frodo. For the same reasons I am sure. Our one year dog is named Sadie, since she is a female we could not go with Sam. Although we did consider it. Enjoyed this chapter.

Thanks so much Darian. Interestingly, after posting this chapter, I seriously considered renaming the dogs. Spoiler alert: they're relatively minor characters :). But even still, it never occurred to me until after posting that it didn't make much sense for people like Becca and Frankie to name their dogs after literary characters. It would have made more sense to name them Marty and Doc, given the nod to Back to the Future earlier in the chapter (FYI, we had cats with those names. Marty is 10 and still with us. Doc, unfortunately, got sick a few years back and had to be put down). But after your comment I found myself mulling over what would be good dogs names for pets owned by a metaphysicist and an architect? If I think of something better, I may change the names before a print version down the road.
